Wo kommen wir hin. The Heart’s Voice

Workshop and Discussion

Voice and speaking exercises haven't just gone out of fashion for writers, the experience of one's own vocal expression is inhibited, formalised and controlled in various ways today. And yet, in this era of Brexit and a loss of public consciousness, each person's voice is more important than ever before. Few know this better than A. L. Kennedy, a Scottish novelist and stand-up comedian.

A workshop with A. L. Kennedy and Ros Steen, a voice and speech trainer at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), will lend unexpected political dimensions to the performative abilities of participants. The workshop is an open call, aimed at anyone interested!

Afterward, Kathrin Röggla will talk with A. L. Kennedy and Ros Steen about speech in right-wing, populist times.

The event is part of "Wo kommen wir hin".
