Health and Safety Regulations

Please observe all access restrictions currently in place for Akademie buildings:

When visiting exhibitions:

You are also required to wear a medical mask throughout the entire Akademie building.

Please maintain a distance of at least 1.5 metres from other people.

Small bags (no larger than A5) are permitted in the exhibition halls.

There is no obligation to test. Proof of vaccination or recovery is not required.

Access only with a time slot ticket. We recommend advance booking at adk.de/tickets.

Since some audio installations in the exhibitions „Arbeit am Gedächtnis – Transforming Archives“ and “NOTHINGTOSEENESS – Void/White/Silence” can only be enjoyed with headphones, it is recommended that you bring your own headphones (3.5 mm jack plug).


When visiting events:
Visiting is possible upon presentation of one of the following proofs:

Tested persons must present a written or electronic certificate of a negative test result. Proof of testing can be provided either within 48 hours before the start of the event by PCR testing or, if possible, on the same day (max. 24 hours) by rapid antigen tests.

Vaccinated persons must show their vaccination card or a similar document showing that the complete vaccination was given at least 14 days ago.

Those who have recovered must show a positive PCR test result that is at least 28 days and no more than six months old.

Please maintain a distance of at least 1.5 metres from other people.

You are also required to wear a medical mask throughout the entire Akademie building, and to document your attendance.


Because our coat check services are only available in a limited capacity and are unsupervised, we ask that you refrain from bringing large bags with you.

We recommend purchasing online tickets in advance: www.adk.de/tickets. Seating is limited in the rooms and spaces used for special events.

When visiting the Brecht-Weigel Museum and the Anna Seghers Museum:

The museums may only be visited as part of a guided tour, whereby the number of people is limited to smaller groups in order to maintain the minimum distance - in accordance with the current hygiene framework concept of the Senate Department for Culture. For school classes, the current special conditions apply according to the hygiene framework concept of the Senate Department for Culture.

The presentation of personalized proof of vaccination, recovery or a highly current negative test is a prerequisite for visiting the museums. Pupils are exempt if it can be proven that they are regularly tested in school.

Visitor data is registered to track contacts. There is the option of using a tracking app for this.

When entering the areas of the Archives, hands must be sufficiently disinfected. Disinfectant dispensers are available for this purpose at the entrances.

Attendance Documentation

In order to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, the Akademie der Künste is obliged to collect your data. These shall only be used to trace possible routes of infection and forwarded to the competent health authorities upon request.
The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. d GDPR (processing of personal data to protect the vital interests of the data subject or of another natural person). This includes the processing of personal data to monitor epidemics and their spread.
Your contact details shall be kept for a period of four weeks and then deleted.
