JUNGE AKADEMIE
Mensch Maschine: Return to Earth

Exhibition Opening and Music Festival

The exhibition presents new works by nine artists from the Human Machine fellowship programme at E-WERK Luckenwalde. In their works, the artists explore the complex relationship between human and machine, animal, plant and planet in the context of the climate crisis and the advancement of digital technologies.

The works of animation, film, sculpture and painting can be seen for the first time in the galleries and the iconic turbine hall of the E-WERK. The opening will be accompanied by the music festival “Mensch Maschine Musik” in the decommissioned Bauhaus-style public swimming pool located next to E-WERK.

With works by the fellows: Assem Hendawi, Emerson Culurgioni & Viktor Brim, hn. lyonga & Safiya Yon, Kira Xonorika, Maithu Bùi, Rae Hsu, Sonya Isupova

The opening will also feature the programme ‘Mensch Maschine Musik’ (Human Machine Music) at Stadtbad Live! Luckenwalde, with musicians Bendik Giske, Discovery Zone and Nazanin Noori (alumna of the JUNGE AKADEMIE), as well as performances by the fellows Rae Hsu and Kira Xonorika.
