Dorothee von Windheim SELBSTBILDEND (“Eine Zeitaufnahme war beabsichtigt, . . .”)

Exhibition

Dorothee von Windheim’s works explore the image, copy and imprint as well as the ephemeral nature of materiality. In Rheinsberg, she is presenting for the first time her basia mille cycle (2003–2015) comprising imprints of lipstick from her lips as the everyday legacy of her life. Here, by replicating the supports with traces of her lipsticked lips or permanently preserving their transient impressions so often overlooked or eradicated, she gives these traces a new materiality. In addition, she also critically engages with the writings of her ‘host’ Kurt Tucholsky.
At the exhibition opening the speakers include Peter Böthig, Wulf Herzogenrath and Hubertus von Amelunxen.
