Matthias Flügge

Matthias Flügge (born in 1952 in Demmin) is a German art historian and curator. Since 1977, editor of The Journal Bildende Kunst, as a freelancer from 1984 and as editor-in-chief from 1990. From 1991, editor-in-chief of neue bildende kunst, 1997-2006, Vice President of the Akademie der Künste, from 2012, Vice-Chancellor of the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden. His exhibition Der Riss im Raum (The Crack in Space) in the mid-1990s showed contemporary art from Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.
